Fulcrum’s technology strategy is designed for flexibility. Based on an extensive and ongoing evaluation of more than 100 waste-to-biofuels technologies and processes, we’ve identified and are licensing technologies from multiple suppliers for commercialization—three gasification technologies and one alcohol synthesis technology. This multiple deployment strategy gives us access to technological diversity and allows us to select the right technology for the feedstock, desired fuel product and size of each plant, ultimately optimizing the potential benefits and minimizing risk.

Before we select a technology for deployment, it must either be commercially proven or have undergone successful pilot testing. We then lend our technical expertise to the process, conducting additional testing with the engineering team to identify further refinements that will enhance the reliability, economics and efficiencies of the systems. This process also provides valuable information to guide the plant design.
